Maintenance Tips
Regular Cleaning: Wipe down the instrument after each use with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, sweat, and oils. This prevents buildup and keeps the finish looking good.
String Care: Change strings regularly, as they can lose their tone and elasticity over time. Old strings may not hold tune well and can affect playability. Wipe down the strings after each use with a clean cloth to remove dirt and oils that can cause corrosion.
Humidity Control: Store your instrument in a stable environment with moderate humidity (around 45-55% RH) to prevent warping or cracking of the wood. Consider using a humidifier or dehumidifier in extreme conditions.
Fretboard Conditioning: Condition the fretboard with lemon oil or specialized fretboard oil to keep it hydrated and prevent drying and cracking. Wipe off any excess oil after application.
Storage: When not in use, store your instrument in a suitable case or gig bag to protect it from dust, moisture, and physical damage. Avoid leaving it exposed to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
Professional Maintenance: While basic maintenance can be done at home, it's a good idea to have your instrument professionally set up and serviced periodically to ensure optimal playability and performance.
